so i missed my flight to NYC this morning, which set off a whole series of events that could have been averted had i made it into the airport 10 minutes earlier. So i’ll have to wait about 5 hours for the next flight out, cancel my ride from the airport, cancel/reschedule lunch, cancel/reschedule meeting up with TLC (my favorite Tennessean in NYC), cancel coffee with a priest friend of mine, arrange to take the train into manhattan. And now come into the city on Friday to meet with everyone i had planned to meet with today. I’m running on about 3.5 hours of sleep.
oh well. at least the yankees are playing, i’ll have gray’s papaya tonight and i’m not at work.

Yup, I missed a flight home to see my folks once. I didn’t have a lot scheduled for that weekend, so it didn’t rock my world. I just got on standby for the next flight, went to a movie theater, and watched a movie. IIRC, it was “The Perfect Storm.”
Another time, however, I left my house for a 18:45 flight to London after 17:00. So I have to get all the way across Houston at rush hour, park the car, check in, and get on the flight, and I’ve left after the time I’m supposed to be checking in. And this is post 9/11. I still made the flight. I got to the check-in counter around 18:15. It helped that I was 1, OnePass Gold Elite, 2, flying BusinessFirst, and 3, not checking any luggage. If I had missed that flight, I would have missed part of a business meeting that was my reason to go on the flight. Ugh.
