This morning IÂ ran a 5k, the Tom King Classic ( i dunno who Tom King is). The race started outside where the oilers play football and finished on the 50 yard line and supposedly there was a shot of you as you cross the finish line on the jumbotron and they announced your number as you finished. I’m still waiting for the official results but it should be a personal record.
This is my fifth 5k in since last september. I’ve run a total of 2.5 miles in training since the first one so obviously I’m not taking this very seriously. My times have been terrible but I did finish.
Besides being old and out of shape the real test in running any distance past what you’re comfortable running or in shape for is the mental battle of putting one foot in front of the other and trudging on because giving up or being last is not an option you are willing to entertain.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Is now a bad time to mention that the Oilers are likely the reason that I am not a sportsfan?

Good jorb, LJV!
I have only run in 3 5Ks and on 10K, but it is certainly fun to finish them. And to see improvement is always a bonus!
