To commemorate The Angry Gnome’s start to another semester. I just wanted to give him a glimpse of what his future maybe like: (click the picture to see it in all it’s glory)

One awesome year down. It’s amazing how much you’ve learned in one year. My major accomplishments in the same amount of time pale in comparison. Where as you refined your motor skills and speech drastically my motor skills, speech, hair and overall level of cuteness has declined (albeit slightly).
The whole secret of life is to be interested in one thing profoundly and in a thousand things well.
- Horace Walpole
I like the quote and agree with the thought.
First day of the year - first snow of the year. New Year’s lunch was at brian and crystals and after all the yummy goodness that crystal made we saw the great blizzard of 08. I drove home after it settled down and arrived here before the blizzard hit my place.
( no, i wasn’t driving that fast )
Worst of 2007

- because of above not moving back to texas this summer as I had originally hoped
- slight fender bender in atlanta
- discovered more gray hairs
- for the first time in 8 years did not visit NYC
07 was thankfully short on the bad
Best of 2007
- finding a new job that I enjoy
- buying a condo
- golf game improved by 10 strokes
- watched tiger woods play golf in person
- developing stronger friendships with old friends, new friends and family
- and many more…
things to do in 2008
- get LASIK’ed
- break 30 minutes in the 5k
- run 1 - 10k
- drop 10 more lbs and get stronger
- travel more
- get better at cooking and photography
- decorate the new place
- and lots of other things…
Happy New Year to all!
JERRY: I don’t understand, I made a reservation, do you have my reservation?
RENTAL CAR AGENT: Yes, we do, unfortunately we ran out of cars.
JERRY: But the reservation keeps the car here. That’s why you have the reservation.
RENTAL CAR AGENT: I know why we have reservations.
JERRY: I don’t think you do. If you did, I’d have a car. See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to *hold* the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them.
In general I detest making reservations, perhaps it’s me just not wanting to be tied down to be somewhere at a specific place and time. But a lot of things these days take reservations like a dinner at a nice restaurant, hotels, flights, rental cars, massage appointments, and hair appointments.
I have a good relationship with my hair stylist, I can usually send her a text and get fit into the schedule on the same day, (good relationships nearly always results in great service). But last week I actually made an appointment, 3 days in advance, and they called the day before to confirm it. I arrive in time for my appointment and they asked if I could come back in an hour, apparently there was a scheduling snafu as they booked me in for a 15 minute time slot instead of a 30 minute time slot. I had already waited it out at the office for my hair appointment otherwise I would have gone home already, needless to say what little hair i have is looking a bit shaggy and I was sufficiently irritated that they didn’t catch the snafu when they called to confirm it.
ugh.

I just finished two months in the condo and it is finally starting to look and feel more like home. New lighting and cable/internet has added a lot to make the place feel more comfortable. I suppose i felt like a guest in my own home for a while but things are coming together nicely. Check out the pics.
